چکیده

This paper presents experimental techniques to determine the amount of lubricant in each of the major components of an R134a automotive A/C system using ND-8 (PAG 46) oil—compressor, condenser, liquid tube, evaporator and accumulator. Three different techniques are presented: Remove and weigh Flushing Mix and sample The advantages and disadvantages, as well as the suitability of each technique are discussed. The uncertainties of each technique applied to different components of the experimental system are presented. Applying these techniques shows that the overall amount of lubricant in the system can be determined with an uncertainty of ±2g which is less than ±1% for the experimental system. In addition, a new method to separate refrigerant and lubricant is presented which does not require a solvent, and allows reusing the lubricant after separation. This method has an accuracy of ±0.04g of refrigerant left in the lubricant after separation.

An Investigation of Oil Spreading Coefficient in Carbonated Water+ Gas + Oil System: an Experimental Study in an Iranian Asphaltenic Oil Reservoir

To provide supplementary oil recovery after the primary and secondary processes, enhanced oil recovery (EOR) techniques are introduced. Carbonated water injection (CWI) as an EOR method can improve sweep efficiency and the risk of gas leakage. On the other hand, the interfacial tension (IFT) is one of the key factors which can affect fluid displacement during the process of CWI greatly. Therefo...

Transient Refrigerant Migration and Oil Distribution of an R134a Automotive A/C System

Automotive fixed orifice tube (FOT) systems are especially prone to cycling losses due to their clutch cycling operation. Therefore, it is important to better understand the dynamics of the refrigerant and oil migration during transient events such as cycling and start-up . To measure the refrigerant mass and oil distribution of an automotive R134a FOT breadboard system, two ball valves around ...

Dual-Fuelling of a Direct-Injection Automotive Diesel Engine by Diesel-Gas Method

Use of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) in compression-ignition (C-I) engines has always been considered important in the diesel engineering field. This is due to its easy accessibility and good combustion characteristics. In this paper the application of LPG fuel along with diesel oil in a direct- injection automotive diesel engine is experimentally investigated. In order to convert the pure dies...

Investigation of Products Distribution In Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis By Nano-sized Iron-based Catalyst

Nano-sized iron-based catalyst was prepared by the micro-emulsion method. The composition of the final nano-sized iron catalyst, in term of the atomic ratio contains: 100Fe/4Cu/2Ce. Experimental techniques of XRD, BET, TEM and TPR were used to study the phase, structure and morphology of the catalyst. Fischer-Tropsch Synthesis (FTS) reaction test was performed in a fixed bed reactor at pressure...
